Finding Flow
I started reading Finding Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Astounding so far.
“To live means to experience – through doing, feeling, thinking. Experience takes place in time, so time is the ultimate scarce resource we have. Over the years, the content of experience will determine the quality of life. Therefore one of the most essential decisions any of us can make is about how one’s time is allocated or invested.”
What struck me vividly is the concept of achieving something we believe is important. When we live our lives with complete involvement and an enthusiasm towards such specific intent, we transform into autotelic individuals – from the Greek, auto (self) telos (goal) – engaging in activities for their own sake because the experience in itself is the goal.
Onward and upward.
